Good Effort Overall

The Believers played the CRC Kings for the first time this season. The rivalry has always been intense to say the least and tonight did not disappoint. There was not too much flow to the game as there were about 12 penalties accessed, and one member of the other team was ejected after his temper got the better of him.

After it was all said and done, the Believers came away with a 9-4 victory, a season high 3 wins in a row. The B's got an early lead with goals from Matt Stark, Derek Brenton and Wes Fenner. The Kings clawed back to tie the game. Fortunately the believers owned the 3'rd period, outscoring the short-benched Kings 5-1. Mitch scored 3 goals showing great tenacity and a no quit attitude. His line jelled well tonight and Rick showed off his wicked wrister for another timely goal tonight.

Matt Stark skated miles. When skirmishes happened and anger was evident, Matt quietly turned and skated away showing discipline, maturity and class. He is the epitome of what we all strive for on the ice. Speed, skill, hard work, and a genuinely nice guy describes Matt. He has been and always will be a cornerstone of the Believers hockey Club as he also scored the first ever goal for the Believers.

May all you team members have a great Christmas with your families and friends, and we'll look forward to seeing you all on Sunday,Dec 27 at 6 pm at Lake Cowichan against the Oasis.
