Believers vs Spurs- What a comeback

The Believers started very slow in this game. The Spurs scored 4 seconds into the game and took a 3-0 lead. They had a 5-1 lead going into the final frame when the Believers believed in themselves and came alive. They caught up and actually took a 6-5 lead before some sloppy clearing by an unnamed right winger. The game ended up tie which was a fair result and the Believers losing streak ended. Did I mention that Marty was back. Next game is Saturday night, Feb 27 at Fuller Lake at 8:40 vs the feisty Fire hall.

Believers play Oasis

Marty was away for this game as well. You guessed it, the Believers lost again.
The game was very fast and furious. With no ref, the teams played hard yet clean.
Ed Busch scored a hat-trick, but that wasn't enough as the Oasis won by two goals.

Believers play Talons

The fact that the score wasn't posted during the game was a real benefit for the Believers. They'll take the scoreless draw over the actual 4 goal loss. Once again,
without Marty in the lineup, the team really struggled. Marty, come back soon please.

Smoked by Smoke-Eaters

"This week the Believers got Smoked by the Eaters 12-6. At one point the Believers were down 9-1 and although they were able to score 5 goals in the final frame, its definitely wasn't their best showing of the year. The one bright spot of Matty, who buzzed around like usual netting a goal and setting up 2 others. The kid line came alive in the final frame as Wes scored 2, and Ed scored one. Rick potted one too on a great behind the net feed from Dan. Next week the Believers plan to exact their revenge on the Talons at 7:15pm at Cliff McNab in Nanaimo. Meanwhile, Marty continued his holiday in Mexico awaiting word on the teams progress.
